Mental Health Clinic in Huntington
Licensed by the Office of Mental Health, the Pederson-Krag Mental
Health Clinic provides a continuum of comprehensive mental health
services for early childhood, child, adolescent and adult populations
who have a designated primary psychiatric diagnosis according to
DSM IV. Treatment modalities include individual, group, couples
and family treatment depending on the needs of each patient. Within
these modalities there are specialized programs to service distinct
populations including the dual recovery program for individuals
who have both a mental illness and alcohol/drug abuse problem; the
eating disorder program; the school-based program in the Huntington
School District; and the Special Services Program for individuals
who suffer from chronic mental illness and are not benefiting from
traditional clinic services.

Mental Health Clinic in Smithtown
The Mental Health Clinic at Pederson-Krag North offers a full array
of therapeutic services. Treatment is available for children as
young as 2 years old, adolescents, and adults. An interdisciplinary
approach to treatment is utilized involving collaboration by various
professionals including psychologists, social workers, nurse practitioners,
psychiatrists and case managers.
The following treatment modalities are offered through our clinic
program:
- Child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy
- Child, adolescent and adult group therapy
- Family therapy
- Couples therapy
- Parent Education/Parent Effectiveness Training
- Psychopharmacology
- Consultation
- Crisis Intervention
- Court-Ordered Forensic Evaluations
The clinic continues to be recognized for its ability to provide
treatment to specialized client populations which include:
- Persons in Need of Supervision-Diversion (PINS Diversion)
- Mentally Ill/Chemical Abusing (MICA) Clients
- Serious and Persistently Mentally Ill
- Sex Offenders and other mandated clients
Referrals are accepted from county and state facilities, community
agencies, schools, physicians, courts, hospitals, insurance companies,
private practitioners, family members and individuals (self-referral).
We are providers for Medicaid/Medicare and accept many third party
insurances. For individuals who do not have medical insurance we
offer sliding scale fees based on ability to pay.
